composition
Salacylic acid is a lipophil and removes sebum plugs to allow sebum to flow uninhibited out of the skin’s sebaceous glands. The formation of new sebum plugs is prevented, closed comedones open up and break down. The acidic pH value of 3.5 stabilises the skin’s own hydro-lipid coat and prevents the proliferation of acne bacteria (propionibacterium acnes). Inflammatory acne lesions are reduced.
